    Hodgson Mill Introduces New KAMUT Wheat, Sorghum & Teff Side Dishes

    Ancient Grain Medleys offer whole grain nutrition in three delicious flavors

    EFFINGHAM, ILLINOIS – January 24th, 2017: Family-owned Hodgson Mill offers even more innovation in 2017 by introducing an Ancient Grain Medley line of side dishes made with KAMUT wheat, ancient grain sorghum, and teff - three delicious ancient grains with buzz in the grocery and natural foods marketplace.

    Ingredients were chosen with care. KAMUT Khorasan wheat is a heritage wheat grown organically, and it lends a naturally rich, buttery flavor and fluffy texture to the pilaf. Sorghum is an ancient grain originating from Africa, but now grown widely in the United States –it is a drought-resistant, nutritious grain that feeds millions of people around the world; Americans are just discovering its possibilities beyond familiar sweet ‘sorghum syrup.’ Teff is the world’s tiniest grain: it is packed with minerals, and adds a lightly tangy flavor.

    New Ancient Grain Medleys are available in three flavors, including Butter & Chive, Roasted Garlic & Peppercorn, and Rosemary & Olive Oil. Seasonings were carefully selected to complement the grains. All three are Non-GMO Project Verified.

    Each 5-oz. pouch holds 3-4 servings and is ready in about 20 minutes, making them a convenient and delicious addition for simple weekday meals, or even fancier dinners.

    Each nutritious serving offers 35g of Whole Grains (daily recommended serving is 48g), 4g Fiber and a lower amount of sodium (300mg) compared to most side dishes on the market, which can range to 800mg or more per serving.
