The Honest Kitchen, Finalist for an Expo West Nexty Award, to Unveil Biggest Launch to Date at Natural Products Expo West 2017
100% human grade pet food company expanding food, treat and Proper Topper™ lines, refreshing packaging and converting all cookies to grain- free
ANAHEIM, Calif. (February 20, 2017) - The Honest Kitchen, maker of all-natural dehydrated pet foods, supplements and treats, announces its biggest launch yet to be displayed at Natural Products Expo West booth #3780 from March 10-12 at the Anaheim Convention Center. Hitting shelves in March 2017, The Honest Kitchen will add first-of-its-kind single-serve cups, two new diets to its Minimalist pet food line, two new Proper Topper recipes, a whitefish & pumpkin training cookie and new treat packaging.
“Here at The Honest Kitchen, we focuson creating products that align with human food trends to keep our pets’ health and dietary needs in line with our own,” said Lucy Postins, founder and CEO of The Honest Kitchen. “We’re very excited to announce that this launch will be the biggest for the brand to date, expanding our line of existing products and refreshing our packaging to help consumers better understand our brand’s functionality.”
The San Diego-based company introduces three-ounce single- serve cups as a nourishing alternative to conventional canned dog food. Purchasers will be able to add water directly into the new trial-sized containers, providing a convenient way to feed their dogs The Honest Kitchen’s 100% human grade food. The trial cups will be available in best-selling grain free varieties, Force Chicken Recipe, Embark Turkey Recipe, and Love Beef Recipe. As part of The Honest Kitchen’s promise to reduce its environmental “paw” print whenever possible, all of the brand’s manufacturing takes place in North America to reduce transportation and carbon emissions. The single-serve cups are made with BPA-free materials, unlike most canned dog food.
The Minimalist grain-free dog food line has welcomed two new recipes, Hope™ Beef & Chickpea and Spruce™ Duck & Sweet Potato. Each recipe contains only six ingredients and is chock full of healthy goodness, making them ideal for dogs with sensitivities and food allergies. Made with cage-free duck and ranch-raised beef, both new recipes’ ingredients are 100% human grade, as are all of The Honest Kitchen’s foods.
The Honest Kitchen has given its treat line a whole new look, has converted all existing cookie treat recipes to grain-free, low calorie cookies and has introduced Cuddles™, a whitefish and pumpkin grain-free cookie. Designed to help pet owners easily understand each treats’ purpose, the updated packaging color-codes both proper usage—either training, anytime or functional— and type of protein content. All treats will come in re-sealable pouches, providing easier storage and prolonged freshness.
Proper Toppers™, the brand’s line of toppers, treats or meal replacements for dogs, adds Grain-Free Fish and Grain-Free Beef varieties. The limited-ingredient toppers help boost taste and nutrition to pets’ favorite meals—joining the current line of complete and balanced toppers, CageFree Turkey and Free Range Chicken.
The Honest Kitchen’s Nice Mussels™ have been selected as a finalist in the 2017 Expo West NEXTY Awards under the Best New Natural Living category. The Honest Kitchen debuted the single-ingredient treats in October 2016 as the first and only human grade blue and green freeze-dried mussels for dogs. These treats with benefits are a natural source of Omega-3 fatty acids to support a healthy skin and coat.
