Grainful Heats Up the Frozen Aisle with New Flavors

ITHACA, N.Y. – Jan. 26, 2017 – Grainful™, the innovators of “oats reimagined”, today announced three additions to its line of frozen entrees – Chana Masala, Jambalaya and Ranchero Chicken. Developed by chief food officer Chef Jeannine Sacco, the line of internationally-inspired, ready-to-eat steel cut oat-based meals spice up lunch or dinner time.
“Rich with a subtle, nutty flavor, steel cut oats are the perfect base for classic meals and favorites from around the world,” said Sacco, who is also a co-founder. “Frozen doesn’t have to be flavorless and boring, and these new entre recipes are packed with spices and aromas designed to take your taste buds on a culinary adventure.”
- Chana Masala: An Indian classic simmered with tomatoes, garbanzo beans and exotic Garam Masala spices—cinnamon, cumin, cardamom & cloves.
- Jambalaya: A twist on a southern Creole classic with spicy andouille sausage, celery, peppers and seasoning that proves you don’t need rice for delicious jambalaya.
- Ranchero Chicken: Tender white chicken and black beans simmered in a tomato-Guajillo chili pepper based sauce finished with cilantro & lime juice. Giving you a smoky and spicy Mexican-style favorite.
Prepared in individual kettle batches, hearty whole-grain steel cut oats are combined with a colorful mix of bold spices and fresh ingredients to create a savory chef-crafted meal that is ready in less than five minutes. The certified gluten-free frozen entrees are packed with protein and fiber and contain no preservatives or artificial colors or flavors. The new flavors join five current varieties – Vegetarian Chili, Porcini Mushroom Chicken, Unstuffed Pepper, Thai Curry and Tuscan Bean & Kale.
The frozen entrees are available online at the Grainful online store and Amazon.com, as well as at select retailers. The new flavors have an SRP of $4.99 - $5.99.
