The founder/managing partner of The Builders Fund, a private equity platform investing in purpose-driven companies around themes of sustainable food&ag, health/wellness, environment/resource efficiency. Investing to help fix our broken food system, address the growing obesity and chronic disease crisis, mitigate climate change while using our limited resources more efficiently. More broadly, seeking to help solve environmental and social challenges through the profitable deployment of capital into more conscious businesses. Serve on the Boards of Traditional Medicinals, Urban Remedy, The Bar Method + the Advisory Boards of NOLS Pro and Wellbrain. Have invested in, secured funding for, and helped develop a number of successful brands including Sambazon, Manduka, Planet Organic, Pure Organic, CytoSport, BOGS Footwear, Faraday Bicycles, New Leaf Paper and Mrs. Green's Natural Markets among others. Previously founding principal and a partner at Partnership Capital Growth (PCG) - a merchant bank focused in the areas of healthy, active and sustainable living. Helped build boutique consumer advisory/investment group from the ground up, leading investments and advising transactions in the areas of active lifestyle/outdoor recreation, sustainable products, wellness, and healthy food/bev. Other co's we advised or invested in included Ragnar Relay, Anytime Fitness, KIND Bar/Peaceworks, thinkthin, World Health, Gaiam, Vino Volo, TRX, Surftech, and Ecover. Was an associate at North Castle Partners, and a consultant for Bain & Company. Earned dual magna cum laude A.B.s from Harvard University. Twice a NOLS graduate, a sometimes mountaineer. Enjoy surfing and SUP, am a certified yoga instructor (RYT 200), a snowboarder, and endurance runner. With better half, Shana, sons, Cillian & Ewan, and dogs Hana & Logan, am based in San Francisco.
