Description

Allan Christian is a Senior International Trade Specialist with the U.S. Commercial Service, the export business development agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce (USDOC). Since April, 1997, Allan has worked at the U.S. Commercial Service office in Portland, Oregon, assisting U.S. companies in Oregon and Southwest Washington with export business development. Before moving to Portland, Allan worked for five years as an International Trade Specialist with the USDOC’s Office of Japan in Washington, D.C., working on U.S.-Japan trade policy issues, and assisting U.S. exporters with Japanese market access issues. Prior to this, he worked a year and a half as a Financial Analyst and Import Compliance Specialist with USDOC’s Import Administration. His past work experience also includes two years in Northeast U.S. sales support for BMW North America, and two years of experience in housing construction. Allan’s educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the State University of New York (at New Paltz, NY), and a Master’s degree in Economics from Syracuse University. Allan was raised in New Jersey and New York, and has lived in Oregon since April 1997.
