Pure Spoon, from Austin, TX, is the first-to-market maker of 100% organic fruit and veggie purees for kids made with HPP. HPP is a cool-temperature, high-pressure pasteurization technique. HPP means higher nutritional value and more flavor than traditional high-heat pasteurization, which depletes nutrition and flavor. Pure Spoon was founded by a “Momma-On-a-Mission” ™, Alyson Eberle, a working mother, who was not comfortable with the choices she found at the grocery store when looking to feed her daughter, Riley. Alyson’s research revealed most options were made from premade, processed bases and cooked in individual ready-to-eat containers –– including plastic pouches. Determined to give her daughter healthy, fresh food, she made her own homemade purees from raw, fresh organic produce. Soon, she learned that there were many other parents who were not happy with the shelf-stable options available to them and she wanted to give all parents what she wanted to see at the store, but couldn't find.
