Nielsen-Massey Highlights the Flavors of Spring

Nielsen-Massey Vanillas features the global flavors of Rose Water and Orange Blossom Water

WAUKEGAN, ILLINOIS (March 10, 2017) – Nielsen-Massey Vanillas, Inc., the makers of fine vanillas and flavors, highlights the increasingly popular global flavors of Rose Water and Orange Blossom Water. The company will be featuring both products at Natural Products Expo West in Anaheim, Calif., March 10-11, 2017 at booth 1982.

With the rising interest in exploring global gastronomies, Rose Water and Orange Blossom Water are two flavors that are experiencing an increase in popularity. According to industry market research firm Datassential, Rose Water has seen a 60.6 percent growth in use on restaurant menus since 2005. With roots in Middle Eastern, Indian and Mediterranean cultures, these products use the sweet, aromatic flavors of rose petals and blossoms of the bitter orange tree, respectively, to lightly perfume any number of dishes.

“Rose Water and Orange Blossom Water have long been used by chefs the world over,” said Beth Nielsen, Chief Culinary Officer of Nielsen-Massey. “As American consumers become more familiar with and interested in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean dishes, we have begun to see an increased demand for these flavors in U.S. restaurants and bakeries, whether it be to flavor couscous or add depth to macarons.”

Those interested in bringing floral flavors indoors will find great versatility with these culinary waters. Rose Water pairs well with white and dark chocolates, mild cheeses and fruits such as strawberry, raspberry, lychee and mango, while Orange Blossom Water finds its match in almond, lemon and other citrus flavors. Both flavors can be added to sweet and savory applications and are ideal for use in cocktails, as in the Rose Water Pomegranate Ginger Fizz and Orange Blossom Blast recipes below.

Rose Water and Orange Blossom Water are available in 2-ounce and 4-ounce bottles for retail customers and 18-ounce bottles (6 to a case) and gallons (4 to a case) for industrial and foodservice customers. Both products are Kosher and gluten-free certified, all-natural, allergen-free and GMO-free.
