CEO Michael J. Mendes announces Just Desserts to exhibit at Natural Products Expo West

First time at Expo West reflects further commitment to its pioneering clean label philosophy

San Francisco, California – March 8th, 2017 – Just Desserts has announced that it will become a first time exhibitor at the upcoming Natural Products Expo West in Anaheim, California. Just Desserts will be featured at the Anaheim Convention Center from March 10 – 12, 2017 (Booth # 393). While the brand has embraced an artisan, scratch baking approach for its entire 43 year history, the decision to present at Expo West reflects the brand’s deep commitment to premium baking and recent growth investments.

CEO Michael J. Mendes notes that Just Desserts has experienced rapid growth over the past few years as more consumers and retailers embrace its clean label philosophy. “Just Desserts was an early pioneer in clean label baking, and now growing numbers of consumers are embracing our use of only premium, kitchen pantry ingredients,” said Mendes. He adds, “Since the introduction of our organic and vegan range in 2014, we have watched this segment of our product line grow even faster, now representing about 30% of total revenues.”

For Expo West, Just Desserts will showcase a variety of its, clean label products, including Sour Cream Coffee Cakes Bites and Chocolate Brownie Bites. It will also present new organic and vegan items, including an Organic Cookies and Cream Cake and Vegan Midnight Chocolate Cupcakes to Expo West visitors.

Just Desserts has also made a series of investments in its modern Northern California production bakery. These investments, including a Babbco impingement oven, Tonelli planetary mixer, and Hinds-Bock depositors, enable Just Desserts to bake with even greater quality and consistency. Mendes notes, “Although we have always taken an artisan approach to our recipes and ingredients, we are also open to embracing the latest technology in baking equipment to deliver against an increasing standard of quality.”
