Pat Crowley is co-founder and CEO of Chapul, LLC, maker of the original cricket bar. In 2012 he launched Chapul as the United States' first introduction to insects as a nutritional product. In their Salt Lake City kitchen, they developed and coined 'cricket flour' as a cultural introduction to edible insects blended into a gourmet energy bar. In less than two years, Pat has led Chapul on a journey from selling handmade energy bars at local farmers markets, to an appearance on ABC's hit television show, Shark Tank, and winning the 2015 NEXTY Award for the most innovative product at Natural Products Expo West 2014.
